... or are your protected from the selected insurance broker?
Advice(!) We will suggest a few questions which need to be answered upon choosing YOUR BROKER:
Is your broker licensed?
It is always good to know that someone rendering important services for you is qualified. Check the information for the license of your insurance broker, which is granted following a stern system for professional attestation introduced by the Ministry of Finance through its Financial Supervision Commission in 2000.
Does your broker follow the Insurance Code?
The conduct of the insurance brokers is regulated by the Insurance Code and is controlled by the Insurance Supervision Agency. The Insurance Code requires morality, professionalism, clear and timely customer communication, sound judgment upon finalization of insurance contracts, adequate reaction in the events of damage or indemnities.
Maintenance of obligatory “Professional Liability" insurance?
Upon a legal suit against the insurance broker, the latter is obliged to maintain a “Professional Liability” insurance with a minimum limit of BGN 2 240 400 for a single claim, which guarantees that guilty or negligent omissions or mistakes will be compensated.
Does your broker have a registration with Commission for Protection of Personal Data, as an Administrator? Does he follow The Ethic Code of Conduct for Administrators?
